Beware Of Using Google Adsense With Any Other Link Exchange Program

I recently ran across a post in the LinkReferral Program I currently use. Apparently Google does not allow you to place any type advertisement banners or links from any link exchange programs on your site while displaying any of the Google Ad-sense banners and links on your blog or website. This member’s blog was removed for violating Google’s “Terms of Service Agreement”. Seeing as you need to be a member to view the forum posts in the LinkReferral Program, I’ve included the forum post and the letter received by this user.

Forum post: “I received the following email from google today and will be removing the ads from my site. I’m sure adsense can be successful but it’s really not necessary for this site and definitely not worth a few pennies a day.” If you happen to be a LinkReferral member, the direct link to this post is HERE.

Email that was received by this member from Google:

"It has come to our attention that invalid clicks or impressions have been generated on your Google ads, posing a financial risk to our AdWords advertisers. We’ve found that users of third-party programs have been paid or provided with other incentives to visit your site. Such programs include, but are not limited to, auto-surf, pay-to-surf,pay-to-read, or pay-to-click sites. Please note that any method that artificially generates click or impressions on Google ads is strictly prohibited by our program policies, as such activity may artificially inflate an advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings. We understand that you may want more information about the activity we detected. However, because we have a need to protect our proprietary detection systems, we’re unable to provide our publishers with any details about their account activity, including any web pages, users,or third-party services that may have been involved. Thank you for your understanding. We recommend reviewing these references to learn more about invalid click activity and other activities that could endanger your account standing:

If you need help logging the traffic on your site to determine the source of your visitors, we recommend trying these Google search terms: Webmaster resources Website tracking and logging Site traffic analysis In addition, because we credit advertisers for any invalid activity we detect, we may adjust your account earnings for any days during which such activity occurred. Lastly, please note that if we continue to detect invalid activity from these services on your Google ads, we may take further action on your account in order to protect our advertisers’ interests, and payment may be withheld. Thank you for your understanding.

New UPDATE: I recieved this email from the Google Team this morning: 07/27/2009

Hi,

We're writing to let you know about an upcoming update in your AdSense account designed to help you generate the maximum revenue from your ad units. You'll soon be able to allow multiple ad networks to show on your pages, which means that advertisers from external Google-certified networks will be able to compete with AdWords advertisers for your ad space.

If you're unfamiliar with what ad networks are, they're companies that partner with advertisers and publishers to buy and sell ads on sites they don't own themselves, similar to AdSense. Ads from these networks will compete with Google ads to show on publisher sites, and the ad generating the highest revenue for publishers will be displayed.

To ensure the quality of the ads appearing on your sites, we're certifying all participating ad networks for adherence to our standards for user privacy, ad quality, and speed. You'll also have control over which networks can show ads on your pages -- you can choose to opt out of receiving ads from specific networks, or all networks completely. This means you can continue to show ads from only AdWords advertisers if you'd like.

Finally, some ad networks use tools similar to Google's interest-based advertising to show more relevant ads to users on the sites they visit. These ad networks won't be permitted to collect data from your site for the purpose of subsequent interest-based advertising, but we'll allow those who comply with user privacy guidelines to show ads using these tools. You'll have the ability to opt out of showing ads based on user interests from these ad networks, and we've changed our requirements for third-party ad serving to reflect this. More information is available at http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=94230 .

These new capabilities will automatically be enabled for your account, and you'll see a new section in your Ad Review Center where you can allow or block specific ad networks. Please note that we'll gradually be adding new ad networks to AdSense accounts over the next few months, so you won't see any immediate impact on your ads or your earnings.

To learn more about this launch and managing the ad networks appearing on your pages, visit the AdSense Help Center at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=13522 and watch our video demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HyJPOVLd3I .

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

What Are Affiliate Programs? How Do Affiliate Programs Work?

An affiliate program is simply a way for companies to use online advertisement to boost their product awareness and sales. Traditional door-to-door sales, the use of product fliers, telephone solicitation and billboard advertisement remain vital and continue to be very affective in boosting company sales in today’s society. However, Affiliate programs are economical and have been shown to be quite successful.
Companies are able to attract and accurately target sales of their product to an audience more likely interested in their product. Additionally, they are more likely to attract more return customers.

Advertisement online is as diverse as it is offline. Billboards are replaced with company banners. Posted product reviews, newsletter sign-up and email solicitation replace word of mouth, door-to-door sales and company fliers.

Affiliate programs work because companies are willing to pay a portion of their sale revenue to anyone willing to effectively advertise their product online. Rewards received may arrive in any form or combination. Most often rewards are given as free product, discounts, prizes and / or cash.

Most affiliate programs are free to join, open to most everyone and very easily managed once setup is completed. The list is endless. If you are new to this concept and would like to participate I would suggest first joining the better-known online giants: Google, Ebay, YouTube or Amazon. They offer detailed setup guides, online help and strategies to effectively manage the program. I love comments and input. If anyone knows of some great affiliate programs, tools, tips or has any advice, please share!

Movie Lovers Will Love This Post! My Collection Of The Very Best Sites Offering Free Full-Length Online Movies & TV Shows. Downlaods & Live Stream.

I love to watch movies! Over the years I have gathered a really nice collection of sites that play free movies and TV shows online. Also, some that allow you to download free movies as well. All are legitimate and licensed to either host the movies or link to them. For the longest time YouTube and Hulu have been among my favorites in the past and pretty well saturated the market. I still enjoy them both, but there are so many others to choose from now as well. And they are incredible! Yes, THESE ARE LEGAL!
*** Indicates My Personal Favorites

Beeline TV:
"Watch free online TV channels from around the world. Beeline TV provides a selection of the best broadband internet television channels. Enjoy news, TV shows, movies, music, entertainment and sports. A fast connection to the internet is recommended."
Quoted from homepage: http://beelinetv.com/

Crackle

"Crackle, Inc., a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, is a multi-platform next-generation video entertainment network that distributes digital content including original short form series and full-length traditional programming from Sony Pictures’ vast library of television series and feature films. Crackle is one of the fastest growing entertainment destinations on the Internet today, offering audiences quality programming in a variety of genres, including comedy, action, sci-fi, horror, music and reality. Crackle reaches a global audience through its impressive online and mobile distribution network.
Quoted from: http://crackle.com/about/

***Fancast:

"Fancast is THE top entertainment site dedicated to celebrating television. Fancast gives fans instant access to an extensive video collection of television shows, movies, trailers and clips, so they can tune-in, catch-up and critique their favorite television programming. Fancast also offers comprehensive editorial and blog coverage with in-depth recaps and analysis on what's hot and happening everyday in the world of television and entertainment."
Quoted From: http://www.fancast.com/info/about

***Freetube:

"FreeTube is a demonstration of what is possible when technology, social networking, and multimedia are combined. If a computer can handle vast and complex calculations and can manage overseas financial transfers, then surely there must be a way to let individuals watch live television and shows on their computer. From this very simple concept, FreeTube was born. FreeTube attempts to provide a service that allows users to watch live or real-time television on their computer. By using FreeTube you can watch tv online for free - no fees, no downloads, no time limits!"
Quoted From the FAQ section: http://freetubetv.net/

***JTV: (Most Definitely One Of My Favorites)

I am not sure how they do this but they are legal and live stream full-length movies, tv shows and much more. "Founded in October 2006, Justin.tv is the largest online community for people to broadcast, watch and interact around live video. With more than 41 million unique visitors per month and 428,000 channels broadcasting live video, Justin.tv is the leading live video site on the Web, enabling users to create real-time connections with others around the world. Headquartered in San Francisco, Justin.tv is funded by: Y Combinator, Alsop Louie Partners and Draper Associates." Quoted from: http://www.justin.tv/p/about_us

Live Stream:

"Livestream is the most powerful live broadcast platform on the internet. Producers can use the Livestream browser-based Studio application to create LIVE, scheduled and on-demand internet television to broadcast anywhere on the web through a single player widget. Our service comes in two flavors Free (ad-supported) and Premium (white-label, no-ads, pay for usage). Unique features include the ability to mix multiple live cameras, imported videos clips, and overlay graphics. With Livestream, producers can broadcast live from a mobile phone; use a customizable flash player with integrated chat; and develop a branded channel page on Livestream.com that incorporates interactive chat."
Quoted from: http://www.livestream.com/info/about

My Easy TV:

"On MyEasyTV.com you can watch TV online for free. There are over 3000 Internet TV channels on our online TV website. Television channels are either sorted by category or by country of origin. We try to keep everything as simple as possible, that's why we are called MyEasyTV. Just choose a channel, click it and watch it in your browser. No installs, no payments."
Quoted from the very bottom of this page: http://www.myeasytv.com/

***Pick And Watch:
"PickAndWatch.com is an indexing website which allows its users to watch online TV channels directly in their browser, for free. PickAndWatch.com, launched in 2006, was one of the first websites of its kind. Its success was admired from webmasters all over the world and soon many clones appeared on the internet – but none even close as good as the original. PickAndWatch.com is a free alternative to cable or satellite television. Channels are indexed in 2 menus: TV BY CATEGORY where there are 378 selected channels indexed into 14 categories and TV BY COUNTRY where there are 3082 channels from 147 countries. No download, no install, no special software or hardware is needed. To attch TV online users simply click on desired genre in a menu and select a desired channel."
Quoted from: http://www.pickandwatch.com/?about.php

Syfy:
This use to be called Sci-Fi but they are changing their name because the name reflects more of a movie genre then a company name. You can read all about it by clicking HERE. This channel is usually included among the sites I have already mentioned and needs no big introduction as Sci-Fi has been around for ages. I merely added this one separate as they have a really great site and if your a really big Horror/Sci-Fi fan then you would probably link straight to it anyways.

Side Reel:
This site offers tons of free movies and shows to watch and adheres to copyright infringement laws in the same manner as YouTube and many others. Video is uploaded and streamed by members of the community. "Here, you can be the guide, the critic, the expert, and of course a fan." Quoted from: http://www.sidereel.com/_us/about

"You agree not to submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from the rightful owner to post such material to the Site and to disseminate such content under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License." You can read all about this license by clicking HERE."
This section quoted from: http://www.sidereel.com/_us/terms

Watch Free TV:

"This site is really impressive because of its massive selection of channels to watch and it is world-wide. "Watch TV On PC - Free internet TV over 5,000 World Channels & Videos" Quoted from top of the main page: http://www.watchfree.tv/ It does get somewhat overwhelming narrowing down 5,000 something channels. There a no links that I could find showing my how their company came into existence or what their plans. There are no rules posted but seeing that there are no forums, community, members or signups I guess there aren't many that could be broken."

World-Wide Internet TV:
This one is very similar to Free Internet TV but with less channels and multiple media players are need to view all the channels. "Your Portal to watch live and on demand online TV broadcasts...Advised Software: Real-player - Media Player - Quick-time - Win-amp. Watch live online TV channels broadcasting on the Internet. wwiTV offers a Huge collection of free Live internet TV stations streaming on the internet."
Quoted from: http://www.wwitv.com/portal.htm

Jamon:
"This site offers a fairly good selection of free movies you can instantly view online or pay to download. "Enjoy films from around the world with Jaman. We're your home for online cinema with thousands of movies to download, own, or watch free instantly online. Explore a wide range of films, preview blockbuster movie trailers, share movie reviews, and find other film fans from around the globe. With fast and easy movie downloads and streaming, you can watch Bollywood, anime, animation, documentaries, indie films and more within minutes! Join today and and get a free movie rental! "
Quoted from the bottom of the page: http://www.jaman.com/

Surf The Channel:
This is an awesome site and you don't realize how huge it is and how much is has to offer until you begin searching. There are many movies you can download for free or watch free online, however; but these movies/shows are not hosted on "Surf The Channel". You are taken directly to the download site or live-movie steams of that selection. There are some pop-ups and annoyances. If you are not very computer literate you would most likely give up! This site is definitely worth the hassle. Especially when you are as hard-headed as I am and have got to have what you want when you want, legally and for free :)

"SurfTheChannel.com was launched in early October 2007 with the aim of indexing links to "all videos, everywhere" and listing them in easy to navigate pages. Quite a task considering the millions of videos online! As the project has developed we have tried various different layouts and systems eventually settling on a simple search engine style of site. This format has developed into the premier video indexing website on the internet visited by 21 million unique users per month. This accounts for over 200 million unique pages viewed every month. In October 2008 an enhanced user area was added to the site that allowed the users to manage their profiles, create/join groups, add links to their favorites and rate video links according to quality. In December 2008 "Surf The Channel" was named as the 10th fastest rising search query on Google. Also in December 08 STC made progress with several TV networks, studios and broadcasters and finally signed various deals to index and link to their content. 2009 is set to be a massive sea change in online video viewing. SurfTheChannel has set itself a target of being in the top 100 visited websites globally by the end of the year 2009, this will leave it perfectly placed to become an essential stop for the ever growing online video user base."
Quoted from: http://www.surfthechannel.com/about.html

***Truveo:
"Truveo video search lets you search and find videos from across the Web. Use Truveo to find all types of online video including hit television shows, full-length movies, breaking news clips, sports highlights, music videos, or the latest viral videos. If you are looking for a specific video, Truveo video search can help you find exactly the video you want. Truveo can also help you browse through video across the web and discover new videos that you might like. "
Quoted from bottom of the page: http://www.truveo.com/tvshows.php

Also: Truveo is owned by Time-Warner and claims to be the 2nd Largest Video Search Engine World-wide. I am guessing YouTube is still #1. If you would like details on this here's a post with some great info.

Indiantelevision.com's Digital Edge Truveo simplifies video search engine for 17 countries

Shared via AddThis

Video Surf:
"VideoSurf is video search engine that has created a better way for users to search, discover and watch online videos. Using computer vision VideoSurf has taught computers to “see” inside videos to to let users find and watch videos that they really want to see. Whether you’re looking to watch funny videos or scary videos, movie clips or TV full episodes, the hottest new music videos or breaking news clips, VideoSurf’s video search engine is the place to go to find the videos you’ll love. Spend less time searching and more time being entertained! "
Quoted from the bottom of their homepage: http://www.videosurf.com/

YouTube:
YouTube needs no introduction. They offer a very good selection of free full length movies you can watch online as well. The link will take you directly to the list.

MegaVideo:
This one is advertised based. As a free member you are allowed to watch.. don't quote me on this, I believe "74 minutes" then you have to wait like an hour before watching the remainder of the movie. Okay for watching full-length sitcoms but I would go nuts watching movies like this.
Worth looking into though as they are quite popular just not one of my personal favorites.

"Megavideo was built by the same people who brought you Megaupload.com. We allow our partners and users to keep 100% of all advertising earnings. Your content, your money. We just charge a little fee for bandwidth and coffee."
Quoted from: http://www.megavideo.com/?c=about

***Hulu:
One of my personal favorites. They have been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't. So-to-say they have worked out the glitches. This site is easy to navigate and has everything to offer. What I can't find here, I can find on my other personal favorites and visa-verse.

Flixster:
I just found this one but I'm thinking it might turn out to be one of my personal favorites as well. Already over 2 years old? If I hadn't decided to do this post and search for more, I might have missed it! "Flixster is a community for movie fans of all shapes and sizes. Whether you are a die-hard horror fan or lover of romantic comedies (or both), Flixster is a place where you can find others who share your taste and through them discover new movies that you will love. About two and a half years old, Flixster is already one of the largest movie sites on the web with over 15 million unique visitors and almost 2 billion movie ratings."
Quoted from: http://www.flixster.com/misc/about

Time for me to go watch a movie! There are some I did not mention either because they were not totally free, offered only movie trailers but not full-length movies and shows or required some sort of software install.

I hope you enjoy these sites as much as I have. Feel free to comment. And most definitely! if I have missed any of your favorites... PLEASE LEAVE THE LINK and share with us.
